Do you suppose…?

…that the reason no romance novel cover model has chest hair is because it’s too hard to draw?
Do you know any naturally smooth-chested men? (I know one. Every other guy has a smattering or looks vaguely bearish.)
Those hairy guys aren’t less sexy. And I know that hair obscures muscle tone in bodybuilding competition. But jeepers, wouldn’t you expect a hero on our novel covers to have some semblance of chest hair?
What’s your vote? Sexy or not sexy? Or just too darned hard to draw?

I get ill when I see a really hairy man in real life or in the media. Especially back hair. *shudders* These chests must be smooth for the same reason why certain atheletes, like professional wrestlers, are smooth… it’s just easier! Having said that, I don’t really pay much attention about the coverguy’s chest… I guess I’m looking more for the overall sense of what the cover is saying to persuade me to read the book. :)
I hadn’t ever thought about it but now I’m imagining it. Personally I like a man with hair on his chest (on the back is a different story…I’m with Mariann on that one! - although the hairiest man I’ve ever seen was also one of the nicest men I’ve ever met) but I can’t imagine it looking good on a book cover. So I guess my vote goes to hairy chest not sexy on a book cover.
