Back in the saddle

What a rough few weeks it’s been! Ordinarily I think about blogging, feel guilty, and then finally write something, but over the past month I’ve not even thought about blogging.
No words in my head then? Ack.
I’ve spent a lot of time sprucing up (and catching up on) the Houston Bay Area web site. I also migrated all the sites I host onto a new server I leased and had an enormous amount of cleanup work to ensure I had all the necessary components for each site, as some sites had some customizations that were hair-raising.
But I’m back, finishing up revisions on Intended Victim and procrastinating varnishing the coaming. The dSO finally asked me this morning if I wanted him to hire someone to do it, and I’m seriously thinking about saying, “Yes.” I love the work once I get into it, but there are days when all the boat’s wood sits like a yoke on my neck and I wish we had a more recent model vessel — one without all the “yachty” woodwork. Wood is a romantic gesture on a modern boat, and I’m not sure I have that much hard work in me to keep that romance alive….
