Heading to RWA National
Jul 23rd, 2006 by Sandra
Hey-hey, it’s nearly time to hit the friendly skies for Atlanta! Prepping for a conference always drives me nuts and I make tons of little checklists:
Load my schedule on the Palm Pilot. Check.
Pack the Palm Pilot’s power cable. Check.
And so on, ad infinitum. This year I’ve actually done slightly better — I got all my clothes drycleaned before the very last day (woohoo!).
But I did encounter a little hysteria when I decided at the last minute that I really did want bookmarks (Kinko’s will create them for a small fortune). Then there was the little hysteria when I didn’t sign up for the Literacy Signing until late June — so I had to arrange to provide my own books and now have to pack the suckers in my luggage along with my pins, pens, and expensive bookmarks.
It’s all good, though. I think I’m going to enjoy this trip.
So if you’re in Atlanta, or headed that way for National, drop on by the Literacy Signing on Wednesday night between 5 and 8 — I’ve got chocolate for everyone.
