I'm not sure how useful the handouts would be because, in this case, they don't do justice to the overall concept. It's kind of a "you had to be there" hands-on experience, with exercises and people sharing their stories and me giving feedback and stuff like that. I'm frankly not so sure the handouts would be of any use to someone who wasn't participating live. On the other hand, I might be able to work the material into a more comprehensive article, which would have value on its own. Let me ponder this for a bit.... Comment on 100 words for 100 days by Ann http://www.sandrakmoore.com/blog/2007/08/100-words-for-100-days/#comment-7234 Tue, 02 Oct 2007 02:24:29 +0000 http://www.sandrakmoore.com/blog/2007/08/100-words-for-100-days/#comment-7234 For me, having a weekly page count works better. Whether I space out the writing over the course of the week or do it all in one day - at least I've got my goal accomplished. 'Cause let's face it. There's just some days I absolutely DON'T feel like writing. I also tend to set a weekly goal a higher rate than 100 words a day, which works out to only be about 3 and half to four pages a week. For someone trying to crank out a 500 - 600 page MS, at that pace it would take me about two and a half years for a first draft. Yikes! Also, what I've discovered is that if I type continuously, without editing, practically without breathing, and without making one spelling correction, I can almost complete five MS pages during my lunch hour at work. The Alpha Smart is a GREAT tool for that. And that gives me 20 - 25 pages without ANY after work work and not including the weekends. Not too shabby. For me, having a weekly page count works better. Comment on Without a Trace soundtrack by Ann http://www.sandrakmoore.com/blog/2007/08/without-a-trace-soundtrack/#comment-7233 Tue, 02 Oct 2007 02:06:49 +0000 http://www.sandrakmoore.com/blog/2007/08/without-a-trace-soundtrack/#comment-7233 Hey, new the blogging business so doing a bit of back reading. I almost always write to music (never the radio - commercials drive me crazy) I find that depending on the scene, music helps create the "mood" for me as I have a hard time brining emotionalism off on the page. I have war music for my battle scenes, poignant songs for poignant scenes, and even what I consider romantic music including songs that depict sweet love to unrequited love. I find songs that create mind pictures for me and then get my kids to burn those songs on CD's for me. Works GREAT for me. Going to have Google Mocean Worker and see what's up with that.
