THE ORCHID HUNTER

I honestly started out writing a pure action/adventure novel, but the more I researched areas the story touched on -- orchids, the Amazon rain forest, ethnobotany, mercury use in gold processing, the Yanomamo -- the more fascinated I became by the material. I was heartened to find so many threads and links between the pieces of information I uncovered. It made the writing a lot of fun, and gave me a ton of material to play with.
